Why Association of TCI and TIVA Anaesthesialogists (AOTTA)?
With advancement in technology total intravenous anaesthesia plays a major role in every day work of an anaesthesiologists, most anaesthesiologists across world have developed a major interest in total intravenous anaesthesia. This growing interest has been prompted by widespread availability of better drugs like propofol, remifentanil, and the more widespread introduction of target controlled infusion systems and depth of anaesthesia monitors. Initially Target control infusion was limited to few premier institutions and research centres, now due to availability of improve pharmacokinetic and pharmocodynamic models of target control infusion at affordable price, it is possible to administer anaesthesia with target control infusion with better precision across all categories of patients. Nevertheless this subject has to be learnt and taught in a systematic way so that so has to provide better preoperative care. The “Association of TCI and TIVA Anaesthesiologists” of India has been established with this strong vision. Total intravenous anaesthesia is a science and art which can be mastered with systematic teaching and continuous practise! This very science can progress with research, with its ultimate goal being better patient care.
Our society was established in a year 2023 with 12 TIVA enthusiasts who have relentless passion to practice and educate total intravenous anaesthesia in systemic way. If any anaesthesiologist in this vast country of great opportunity has a desire to learn and teach this phenomenal subject, Association of TCI and TIVA Anaesthesialogists can be a perfect support system. We are also aware that the hall mark of real growth is education and teaching with high standards of ethical and moral principles. Under the banner of AOTTA, all of us who have an unrelenting passion to learn and teach total intravenous anaesthesia can connect with each other, grow and deliver their very best to patient’s not – withstanding, geographical locations and infrastructures of the given places.
Association of TCI and TIVA Anaesthesiologists, in association with international bodies and local bodies intends conduct research, to have systematic teaching programs and to establish pool of faculty to start regional teaching centres and to decimate knowledge to the best to all of us who have a thirst to learn. You are invited to become a member of the Association of TCI and TIVA Anaesthesiologists; we hope we achieve what we have set out for!

Objectives of the academy
- To promote academic and scientific activity in the field of total intravenous anaesthesia and target control Infusion.
- To encourage research in the field of total intravenous anaesthesia and target control Infusion
- To organise continuing medical education and training programmes meeting and conferences in this subjects.
- To publish scientific papers, journals monographs and textbooks aimed at upgrading knowledge and skills.
- To seek affiliation with national and international association and societies or similar bodies to achieve the objectives of the “ Association of TCI and TIVA Anaesthesiologists “ of India.
- To generate funds to carry out the objectives of the academy.
